My Story

Why I Started Olsen Colorcraft Co.

Some of my favorite memories have been made at birthday parties, backyard barbecues, baby showers, game nights, holiday gatherings, and spontaneous get-togethers with the people I love.

I'm a sixth-generation Vermonter, and that connection to place, family, and community shapes the things I create—from hometown pieces and thoughtful gifts to celebrations designed for real people and real homes.

During my recovery from breast cancer, I realized how exhausting party planning could feel when time and energy were limited. I also learned not to just notice life's little victories—I learned to celebrate them.

I found myself wishing there were one place where inspiration, planners, games, invitations, and shopping lists all worked together. When I couldn't find it, I decided to create it.

Today, Olsen Colorcraft Co. is my way of sharing party inspiration, planning tools, printable games, Ready-to-Celebrate Kits, handmade pieces and personalized gifts that help make celebrations feel joyful, approachable, and a little less overwhelming.

Whether you're planning a birthday, hosting game night, celebrating a new baby, gathering with friends, or simply looking for an excuse to spend time with the people you love, I hope you'll find ideas that inspire you.

One of the things that makes this site special to me is the collection of Real Celebration photos. These are actual moments shared by friends and family who generously allowed me to feature their celebrations. I would especially like to thank Beverly Hutchins and Sheri Tolson, who always seem to have a camera in hand at our events and graciously shared their photos for this project.

You'll also find Pinterest Inspired and AI Inspired content throughout the site. AI was used to create some of the inspiration images, animate certain photos into short videos, and occasionally make small edits to a few Real Celebration photos. These tools help bring ideas to life while still keeping the focus on creating gatherings that feel fun, welcoming, and achievable.

After all, every celebration deserves more than a cake and paper plates.
